Advanced Placement European History

The Advanced Placement Program in European History is designed for qualified students who wish to complete studies in secondary school equivalent to college introductory courses in this field. In addition to a basic exposure to the factual narrative, the goals of the Advanced Placement Program in European History are to develop (a) an understanding of some of the principal themes in modern European History and (b) an ability to analyze historical evidence.

Because of the rigorous demands of this course, students will be expected to devote as much time as necessary to keep current with class assignments and class work. The class requires extensive out-

of-class reading and writing.

 

This course is designed to prepare the student to take an advanced placement test and earn up to two semesters of college credit in European History.

 

This course does not satisfy the World History graduation requirement. It is strongly recommended that students successfully complete Topics in European History if offered before taking this course.
